Harvey, who arrived in Vancouver via a trade with the Philadelphia Union in the summer of 2011, made 179 appearances for the Whitecaps, more than any other player in their MLS history.
"Vancouver will always hold a huge part of my heart," said Harvey. "This city not only allowed me to build a career on the field, it also was the perfect setting to create unforgettable memories off of it. My family and I will always cherish this city and the many people that helped make this our second home. To the fans, players and organization, I appreciate your unwavering support and commitment throughout the years. A simple thank you could never express the appreciation I have for the time I’ve spent here."
The 33-year-old hails from the Los Angeles area in nearby Mission Viejo. LAFC will be Harvey's fourth club.
