Victor Lindelof playing on through injury is the most heroic thing you’ll see this weekend

Dream Team FC
Victor Lindelof playing on through injury is the most heroic thing you’ll see this weekend

It’s been a fairly bleak season for Man United so far.

Having been held to a goalless bore-draw by Crystal Palace on Saturday, Jose Mourinho’s side are now 14 points adrift of table-topping Man City.

But it wasn’t all bad, as the ever-improving Victor Lindelof provided the one bright spark of the day.

Old Trafford’s newest hero SIGN UP – WIN £10k BY PLAYING DREAM TEAM WEEKENDER THIS WEEKEND

As yesterday’s match reached the final few minutes, the Swedish defender was clearly suffering from some kind of thigh problem.

But he was forced to play on through the pain as Mourinho had already used all three of his permitted substitutions.

And with Palace attempting one final attack – with James McArthur feeding the ball through to Jordan Ayew on the wing – a hobbling Lindelof chased down forward and intercepted the pass ahead of Patrick van Aanholt, before clearing the ball up-field.

It was a moment of true defensive heroism, and will surely endear him to the United faithful.

Lindelof dashes ahead of Ayew to win the ball Despite hobbling, he challenges the forward The defender then takes on van Aanholt And clears the ball away from danger

After the game, Mourinho made it clear he was unhappy that the defender had played a full match for Sweden in their clash against Russia on Tuesday.

Speaking to MUTV, he said: “I always say this is the period of the injuries. If they are not injured with the national teams, they come to the clubs and are injured.

“He played against Russia three days ago or two days ago, but of course, we need him when he plays.

“He was probably our best player. He was a brave lad, but he probably punished himself. I don’t know how long he will be out, but he is a fantastic example.”

Mourinho has out his faith in the Swedish centre-back this season

It’s taken a little while for Lindelof to settle at United since his big-money transfer from Benfica last summer, but he’s become a back-line regular this season, often starting alongside Chris Smalling.

He’s been heavily praised by fans and pundits alike in recent weeks, notably for his performances against Juventus in the Champions League.

United’s next game is against Young Boys on Tuesday, but it’s unlikely Lindelof will be fit enough to play.

Boca Juniors players sick and injured after bus attack

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Boca Juniors players have been injured after their bus was attacked on the way to the Copa Libertadores final against River Plate on Saturday.

TV footage shows a window in Boca’s bus being smashed apparently by a tear gas grenade upon arrival at River Plate’s Monumental de Nunez Stadium.

Todo Noticias news channel says six Boca players have been affected and two have already been ruled out for the second leg of the final. Striker Carlos Tevez is one of the players affected by the incident.

Boca chairman Daniel Angelici has requested the second leg be suspended, but no response has been given yet by South American soccer body CONMEBOL.

Boca and River drew 2-2 in the first leg two weeks ago.

Matt Doherty (£2.4m) – Wolves

Reuters Wolves’ Matt Doherty is cheap as chips[/caption]

Our favourite Dream Team bargain so far this season has been their right-back Matt Doherty.

Not only is he cheap, but he’s been exceptionally brilliant, notching a goal and two assists to take home 67 points, making him the best player on the game priced under £2.5m.

2 Ryan Fraser (£3.7m) – Bournemouth

Reuters Ryan Fraser has been one of the stars of Bournemouth’s season[/caption]

Spirits will surely be high in the Bournemouth dressing room this weekend.

Not only did Callum Wilson enjoy a goal-scoring England debut (more on him later), but midfield starlet Ryan Fraser was on target for Scotland as they secured promotion to UEFA Nations League B.

In fact, with five goals and seven assists for club AND country this season, the youngster has been one of the standout bargain buys on fantasy football with 75 points.

Erik Lamela (£3.3m) – Spurs

Reuters Spurs’ man in form[/caption]

Spurs fans have been loving this guy in recent weeks.

After his successful recovery from two hip surgeries that kept him out of the team for over a year, Erik Lamela has been the club’s standout player this season – boasting 62 Dream Team points at present.

And because of his injury problems, his start of the season price was rather low. That means Dream Team bargain-hunters can get the in-form winger for just £3.3m.

4 Richarlison (£3.3m) – Everton

Reuters Everton’s starlet[/caption]

Everton’s summer signing could prove to be the ultimate fantasy football hack this season.

Not only has the Brazilian midfielder netted six times so far, but he’s been playing as a make-sift striker for club and country.

It’s not easy to find goal-scoring midfielders on Dream Team, let alone for such an affordable price.

Get ‘im in your line-up quick, before his price begins to sky-rocket!

5 James Milner (£2.9m) – Liverpool

EPA James Milner has been ever-reliable for Liverpool[/caption]

If you need to fill a space in midfield on limited funds, there’s few better options than Liverpool’s ever-reliable James Milner.

The 32-year-old continues to feature in the Reds starting line-up and has even popped up with some important goals this season – netting against the likes of Arsenal and PSG.

What’s more, can you think of anyone as cheap as this guy who plays regularly for one of the league’s title contenders?

6 Anthony Martial (£3.5m) – Man United

The Mega Agency Jose Mourinho has a lot to thank Anthony Martial for[/caption]

It’s been a fairly grim ol’ season for Man United. But just imagine how things would be if they didn’t have Martial in their ranks?

The Frenchman has been the club’s saviour in recent games, netting six times since October to make him one of the best players to have on Dream Team.

Fortunately, his price hasn’t quite caught up with his form just yet, making him one of the more affordable goal-scorers around.

7 Callum Wilson (£3.7m) – Bournemouth

Getty Images - Getty England’s newest hero[/caption]

Bournemouth’s goal-machine must be pinching himself.

A dream start to the new campaign – where he’s netted six times so far – was followed up by an overdue England call-up for the games against the USA and Croatia.

And after scoring on his Three Lions debut, the striker will be hoping to add to his tally against Arsenal on Sunday.

If you fancy snapping him up in time for that one, he’s still an absolute steal at £3.7m.

ZELDA sequel: Everything on the next Zelda game – release date, graphics, rumours, Nintendo Switch, Wii U version and more

Dream Team FC
ZELDA sequel: Everything on the next Zelda game – release date, graphics, rumours, Nintendo Switch, Wii U version and more

A Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel is in development – so it won’t be long before Link kicks off another adventure on Nintendo Switch.

We’ve pulled together everything we know about it – from release date, to graphics, gameplay changes and much more.

Let’s get started.

The new Zelda game will use the same engine as Breath of the Wild

A new game is coming, right?

Yes. Nintendo producer Eiji Aonuma recently confirmed that a new Zelda game is in production.

Game director Hidemaro Fujibayashi also told IGN: “I can’t say at this point if it will be in sequels or in continuations, or what form it will take, but I definitely have lots of ideas and lots of motivation right now.

Zelda looked stunning on the switch but was arguably held back by the Wii U

“I think while we were working on both the main game and the DLC, it was a process of constantly getting lots of different, new ideas as we refined the game, and finding new things we wanted to do. Even in situations like this, talking to people and finding out that people want to pet dogs gives me a lot of motivation, a lot of ideas for things we could put into the game.”

Anything else we should know?

Speaking to IGN,  Aonuma gave a firm answer when it came to how the team want to deal with Link games in the future.

“You know, I can’t speak to what other people, other companies will do in their own games, but I think for me, especially just in terms of the Zelda series, the incredible freedom that this game offers you and how well that’s been received…to me, it means that freedom, that level of freedom is something that needs to be maintained in Zelda games going forward,” Aonuma said.

“My eyes have been opened to how important that is.

“So one of the things that we definitely consider is that we always wanted to make sure the player could understand what their challenges or what their hurdle is.

“We always wanted to make sure the challenge could be challenged. So we always wanted to make a linear way of [overcoming] a hurdle.”

If the sequel is on the Switch it will likely have similar graphics to Breath of the Wild

Why there will almost definitely be a new Zelda game next year

A new Zelda has been released at least every two years since 1998.

As Breath of the Wild came out in 2017 we will almost certainly see a Zelda game come out in 2019.

Whether this will be on the 3DS as the last instalment was more lavish we are yet to see.

Will this be another full fat game or a smaller project, like ‘A Link Between Worlds’?

There’s always a chance the “next Legend of Zelda” Aonuma was referring to was smaller project – perhaps something for the Nintendo 3DS.

Alternatively, it could form a ‘add-on’, much in the same way as A Link Between Worlds or TriForce Heroe

Will it be open world?
Yep – Nintendo won’t want to mess about too much after the success of the last one.

It will likely keep the same rough layout for Hyrule from Breath of the Wild.

the fans really want the sequel to go back to Hyrule largely due to the trains, planes and the modern fantastical feel the land has.

Where and when will it take place?

Hyrule, most probably set after Breath of the Wild.

You’ll be able to ride horses and other animals in the next game

How much will it cost?

A lot of the game would be rebuilt with similar assets, which could well bring the cost down.

But then, why would they flog it for less when they know it’ll make tons of money?

So, does that mean graphically it’ll look the same?

Most definitely – it’ll still have the cartoony, cell-shaded look – but will probably just be more refined and detailed.

One point to note is that the last game was developed with the Wii U in mind, which may have held back the visuals somewhat.

We’re almost certain there will be no Wii U version for the next Zelda game.

Making camps and searching for items will once again form a big part of the game

What’s going to happen with Breath of the Wild?

Two expansions have been released so far, including the Master Trials and the Champions’ Ballad.

“The world of Hyrule, which we created for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is so large and vibrant that we wanted to offer more for players to experience within it,” said Aonuma. “With this new Expansion Pass, we hope that fans will play, explore and enjoy the game even more.”

There’s even a new update that’s just been released, which fixes a load of bugs and smooths out the gameplay experience.

When it comes to new quests and DLC proper, though, Aonuma has confirmed that BOTW won’t be receiving additional content – possibly as they’re focusing efforts towards the next game?

We’ll be updating this piece with new information every day – so stay tuned!

MILAN — Cristiano Ronaldo put a positive spin on his team’s first loss of the season.

The Juventus forward, who has been playing and scoring regularly despite facing a rape allegation in the United States, gave his team the lead but they still lost to Manchester United 2-1 in the Champions League.

Juventus had won all three of its previous matches in the competition and 10 of 11 in Serie A. The Italian league leaders next play at AC Milan on Sunday.

"It’s never nice to lose, but maybe this defeat comes at the best possible time," Ronaldo said. "We have a great team, we’re top of the group and I’m sure we’ll go through as group winners."

Ronaldo has not appeared distracted since Kathryn Mayorga filed a civil lawsuit in September in Nevada claiming he raped her in his Las Vegas hotel room in 2009. Police reopened an investigation into the allegation at her request.

Ronaldo has denied wrongdoing and also complained that his personal life was being impacted by the allegation.

On Wednesday, Ronaldo scored a superb goal against his former club to give his team the lead, but Juventus again failed to finish off the opposition.

The six-time defending Italian champions almost conceded a late equalizer against Cagliari last weekend before scoring again and winning 3-1. And in Manchester two weeks ago, its dominance was not reflected by the 1-0 victory.

"If we want to get to the final in Madrid at the end of the season, we have to learn from tonight because it comes down to the small details," Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini said. "We should have won this game comfortably.

"We’re still in the mix and it’s better to lose now than further down the line but we must do better. It will bring us down a peg or two. This sort of thing had been in the air for a few games and we botched up big time tonight."

Milan, which will be missing several players because of injury for Sunday’s match, has won its past three league games to move up to fourth in Serie A.

"We need to pick ourselves up right away because we have a massive game in Milan on Sunday," Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said. "We need to keep working."

Dream Team FC
Raheem Sterling tripping over himself to win a penalty is the best thing we’ve seen all week

There’s awful penalty calls, and then there’s this.

Man City host Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League this evening, with Pep Guardiola’s boys aiming to top Group F with a win.

And considering their leading 2-0 at half-time, things are looking pretty good for them.

But their second goal will go down as one of the more controversial moments in Europe this season.

On the 24th minute, Raheem Sterling was racing into the opposition box when he managed to get his feet all in a muddle.

Tripping on the turf, the England winger fell to the floor in dramatic style, with Shakhtar right-back Mykola Matviyenko the closest man to him.

But it seems the referee thought Matviyenko somehow clipped Sterling, as he instantly awarded a penalty to City.

Take a look for yourself.

THAT IS A SHOCKER!

Raheem Sterling trips on the turf, unopposed and the referee awards a penalty kick. 😱 pic.twitter.com/vdCDsw8Qsf

— Football on BT Sport (@btsportfootball) November 7, 2018

Honestly, it’s one of the most ridiculous – but hilarious – refereeing calls we’ve seen for a while.

Even Shakhtar goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov saw the funny side, and could be seen laughing his head off at the decision.

When play resumed, Gabriel Jesus stepped up to take the spot-kick, sending Pyatov the wrong way to net his first goal since September. He looked mightily relieved.

We should add that Sterling certainly didn’t dive, as he simply kicked the turf when he meant to kick the ball.

An embarrassing moment, for both Sterling and the referee.
