There was plenty of debate when FIFA 18’s ratings were revealed.
Not everyone was happy with their ratings, including Michy Batshuayi who asked for an upgrade.

Noel Gallagher sat down with Man City defender John Stones to talk through why he went from 79 to 80.
Stones has continued to improved and has blossomed within Pep Guardiola’s passing style.
However his form hasn’t quite warranted the 94 rating Gallagher wanted to give him.

Strasbourg and Montpellier draw in French league
STRASBOURG, France — Montpellier’s defence held out again in a 0-0 draw at Strasbourg in the French league on Friday.
Montpellier has the second best defence in the league, with only 21 goals conceded in 27 games, and was rarely threatened by a subdued home side.
Instead, Montpellier could have won the game but striker Giovanni Sio’s coolly taken lob in the 84th minute was ruled out for offside. Replays showed he was onside when he made his initial run.
Montpellier moved into fifth place while Strasbourg was 14th.
League leader Paris Saint-Germain hosts third-place Marseille on Sunday.

FIFA lifts ban on 2026 World Cup voters publicly backing bid
LONDON — A ban on voters publicly endorsing a 2026 World Cup bid has been lifted by FIFA in the face of criticism from soccer officials.
The governing body last month ordered officials not to openly discuss the merits of either the joint Northern American bid, featuring the United States, Canada and Mexico, or the rival Morocco contender.
It led to Confederation of African Football President Ahmad, who goes by just one name, expressing frustration at being restricted from backing his continent’s bid.
But FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura informed members this week of an about-turn in a letter to member associations offering new guidance on the bid rules of conduct.
"All public statements by football officials in support of one bidder are admissible provided that they meet the underlying principles of ethical behaviour," Samoura said in the letter. "They shall be limited to genuine support for the preferred bidder and contain no statements against the competitive bidder or requests for bloc voting.
"Officials shall consider whether, from a common sense perspective, the nature and form of a statement can be considered as ‘fair’ and ‘not unduly influencing the bidding process."’
Samoura acknowledged that the previous rules were "questioned by members of the football community." The entire FIFA Congress, which features 211 soccer nations, is due to vote on June 13 on the 2026 host.
Samoura told member nations that they cannot invite a single bid to present to them at any meeting, including regional confederation congresses, ahead of the vote in Moscow to ensure the "principles of fairness and transparency are respected."
"Please also accept the offer of a presentation by the competitive bidder, offering both bidders the same format and attendance," Samoura wrote.
The World Cup will expand from 32 to 48 teams in 2026. It is FIFA’s first men’s World Cup vote since the widely discredited dual contest in 2010 for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

GTA 6 may be ‘in development’ but chances are we won’t be seeing it for some time yet.
So, to make the wait a bit more bearable, one fan created his very own Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer – and Rockstar should definitely pay attention.
The trailer, which was created using the Grand Theft Auto V RAGE engine, combines high-speed chases with real-world footage.

Speaking of trailers, is there any news on the GTA 6 trailer?
Grand Theft Auto 6 is ‘in development’ and despite being a few years away, there’s already plenty of hype around the game.
One of the biggest talking points about GTA 6 is the trailer – which will land sometime before the main game releases.
Remember, you can keep on top of all Grand Theft Auto-related news in our “Absolutely everything about GTA 6” here.
There has been no news yet on the characters or story in GTA 6
So, when is the trailer going to come out?
There’s every chance that we may get a very, very early sneak peak at the end of the year – or maybe a few months before at E3 in LA in June.
The latter is incredibly unlikely, though.
Will the trailer use the in-game engine?
Yes – it certainly will.
GTA 6 will likely be powered by a modified version of the Red Redemption Dead 2 engine – which is capable of some pretty impressive visuals.
RDR2 uses the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), which includes a proprietary physics engine, and runs along with the Euphoria animation engine.
Euphoria is what lets characters interact with the environment in a physically realistic way. So, if they crash a car, they fly through the windscreen etc.
Anything else we should know?
Yes – lots of people are calling for GTA 6 to have a female lead character – and we’d agree.
There’s nothing been confirmed as yet but if they do feature we’d almost certainly see them appear in the trailer.

Following one rather controversial VAR decision, Man United eventually went 2-0 up against Huddersfield.
Romelu Lukaku netted his second goal of the game thanks to a lovely defence-splitting pass from Alexis Sanchez, finishing off a lovely counter-attack.

And as United celebrated the goal in front of the away fans, you might’ve noticed a small squad of pitch-invaders running towards the players to celebrate.
A couple of kids and an older fella hugged and cheered with the stars, in what was quite a nice little moment to be fair.
Although, at one point, Lukaku looks a little over-whelmed by the amount of people seemingly let loose onto the pitch.
But top marks goes to Sanchez, who made this young fan’s day by picking him up and carrying him to celebrate with his heroes.
Great stuff.
Although, from a distance, it looks almost as if Sanchez is struggling to lift the kid, considering he’s not much taller than him.
But then you remember he’s build like a ton of bricks.
United won the game 2-0, but the headlines will be made by the incredibly bizarre VAR decision at the end of the first-half, when Juan Mata saw his effort chalked off by referee Kevin Friend thanks to a seemingly wobbly line.

The third assist was relatively straightforward for a man of De Bruyne’s ability.
Kasper Schmeichel’s poor clearance went straight to Fernandinho who in turn found KDB.
De Bruyne feinted to go out wide but played the ball inside to release Aguero.

Aguero went on to complete his hat-trick meaning there were trebles for goals and assists in the same game.
If De Bruyne doesn’t end up getting his own TV show where he’s got to help people solve problems then there’s something seriously wrong with the world.
