Fantasy football: Who should you pick for your Dream Team Weekender side this weekend?

Fantasy football: Who should you pick for your Dream Team Weekender side this weekend?

We’re happy to announce that Premier League football is back this weekend, following the fun-sponge that is the international break.

And while our love for the national team has been restored – thanks largely to Gareth Southgate and the lads over the summer – we’re far too interested in fantasy football at the moment to take any kind of break.

Still, absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.

So here’s some players you might want to consider…

Marcos Alonso – 40 points this season

Luckily for us England fans, Spain’s marauding full-back didn’t quite get forward as much as he usually does for Chelsea when the two sides met at Wembley last weekend.

Because when he sticks that blue shirt on, we all know that Alonso is easily one of the more terrifying wing-backs in the Premier League.

He’s already nabbed a goal this season – the winner in the 3-2 over Arsenal, no less – while new boss Maurizo Sarri was so impressed with him after their win over Bournemouth recently that he described him as the ‘best left-back in Europe’.

With the Blues hosting struggling-to-score Cardiff this weekend, we really do fancy a goal and/or assist from this man, coupled with a nice clean-sheet bonus.

Lucas Moura – 27 points this season

We reckon it’ll take Man United fans more than just a win over Burnley to get over the nightmare this fella put them through recently.

Brazilian hotshot Lucas terrorised Jose Mourinho’s back-line last month, netting twice at Old Trafford to make him an instant Spurs hero.

But can he do it this weekend against Liverpool?

Mauricio Pochettino is missing Hugo Lloris and Dele Alli for this one – while Harry Kane is seemingly a little out of form at the moment – so some extra firepower will be much-appreciated.

Callum Wilson – 25 points this season

It’s been a great season so far for Bournemouth’s Wilson.

The once injury-plagued striker has netted twice already – including a lovely five-against-one strike against West Ham – that left some of us wondering why Southgate didn’t call him up for his England squad.

Maybe he doesn’t have the lads number?

Up against Leicester this weekend – who kept only three clean sheets away from home last season and have just one so far this term – you might just fancy the current form-man to grab a goal or two.

Roberto Pereyra – 25 points this season

Watford have been the surprise package in the Premier League so far this season.

Following their win over Spurs last time out, the Hornets are rubbing shoulders with the big boys at the top end of the table, while fantasy football fans are desperate to sign up their attacking linchpin Pereyra.

With three goals so far this season, the former Juventus winger has already become a Dream Team favourite.

Could be do it again when Watford host Man United on Saturday evening?
