Christian Eriksen has a surprising history when it comes to the north London derby

It’s north London derby time.

Arsenal host Spurs with bragging rights on the line and fireworks guaranteed on Arsenal Fan TV.

Spurs haven’t lost a north London derby in the league since Tomas Rosicky’s stunner claimed all three points in March 2014.

But form goes out of the window, which is good news for one player in particular.

Christian Eriksen hasn’t ever scored for Spurs against Arsenal.

The Dane has played against Arsene Wenger’s side on nine occasions since joining from Ajax in 2013 but is yet to open his north London derby account.

But the 25-year-old couldn’t be in better shape heading into Saturday’s game.

A hat-trick for Denmark against Ireland secured their place at the 2018 World Cup and ensured he’s now a hero back home.

Eriksen’s tally of 11 goals in qualifying was only bettered by Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski.

Not too shabby for a midfielder.

He’s already got ten goals for club and country, including a strike against Real Madrid, which leaves him only eight behind last season’s total.

With Granit Xhaka giving the ball away at every available opportunity there should be plenty of space for Eriksen to operate in.

So the signs are all there for an Eriksen goal tomorrow. Now we’ve said that, Sead Kolasinac will probably go and rearrange his ankle in the second minute.
